My Entries for the Hallmark New Baby Contest

Hi everyone. I would like to share with you my entries for the Hallmark New Baby Competition. I love children’s design and it is one area that I would love to design for. So the brief really appealed to me.

So here are my entries:

Hallmark New Baby Competition – Sweet Baby Giraffes

You may recognise these from the Animal Love Day dedicated to Giraffes? Well I had designed this initially for the Hallmark competition. I just changed the wording to say New Baby. It’s a placement print and a pattern.

I wanted to design a cute patchwork quilt design for a new baby!

Hallmark New Baby Competition – Nitey Nite Baby Bunny

I also used this design for the Animal Love Day for Bunnies, but again it was initially for the Hallmark competition.

I created a doodle and I used it for the bunny’s blanket and also for the background of the lettering.  I wanted to create something new and fresh, and used this colour scheme.

I was delighted that I was able to combine my doodling with a cute character in this design. I would like to be able to do more of this combination in future, as I love drawing squiggly doodles and I love drawing cute things.

Hallmark New Baby Competition – Nitey Nite Baby Bunny Pattern

This is the pattern. I love stripes and I love how the “Sweet, New and bunny heads” stripe looks like washi tape!

And finally here is my last entry – a typographical entry.

Hallmark New Baby Competition – Baby Typography

I kept this simple with a soft palette and some hand drawn lettering (and a border of hearts! Gotta have those hearts! ♡ ♡ ♡).
