Tigerprint Kids Character Design Competition
On 29, May 2014 | No Comments | In competition, design, illustration, inspiration, my work, Tigerprint, trends | By Tina
Hi everyone. I’ve entered the Tigerprint Kids Character Design Competition with a little character – she’s one of the Doodle Dolls.  She’s very girly, loves flowers, colour and pattern and when she grows up she wants to work as a fashion designer.
She came from a little doodle I did a while ago.
I’d like to work more on these doodles and make some patterns and a collection. Watch this space! ♡
Lilla Rogers’ Global Talent Search and my Design Journey!
On 22, Jul 2013 | 6 Comments | In competition, illustration, lilla rogers, my work, stationery | By Tina
Hi everyone. I’ve entered the Lilla Rogers’ Global Talent Search. As you may now, Lilla is perhaps the most famous agent in the world. She represents some of the most well-known artists working today and I count several of her artists as my favourites.
Lilla launched a talent search in order to find her next artist. This and her Make Art that Sells course has attracted some of the most talented contemporary designers working today.
I entered because I am quite a fan of Lilla. I have her book I Just Like to Make Things. I am planning to do her course in October. I don’t think I will be her next big thing. I feel like I am still on a journey of discovery. But I know that by doing this brief, I will push myself and make a piece of art that I am proud of.
So the brief was a Journal Cover for Paperchase! I squealed with delight when I read this! Paperchase are my No. 1 Dream Client!  (Have a peek at one of my Dream Designs for them.) Their stationery shop makes me want to do cartwheels in the aisles! It’s a smörgĂĄsbord of delightful design! Read more…

Hi everyone. I would like to share with you my entries for the Hallmark New Baby Competition. I love children’s design and it is one area that I would love to design for. So the brief really appealed to me.
So here are my entries:
You may recognise these from the Animal Love Day dedicated to Giraffes? Well I had designed this initially for the Hallmark competition. I just changed the wording to say New Baby. It’s a placement print and a pattern.
I wanted to design a cute patchwork quilt design for a new baby! Read more…
Tigerprint Male Pattern Competition – Urban Rainbow
On 09, Apr 2013 | No Comments | In competition, inspiration, my work, Tigerprint, trends | By Tina
Hi everyone. I haven’t entered a design competition in ages so decided to challenge myself and do a male design. My designs are usually quite cutesy and feminine, so I wanted to create something a bit more masculine.
My influences were the upcoming trend of 90s acid house and comic graffiti with bright colours for males.
I entered these for the Tigerprint Male Pattern Design Competition. ♡
Lots of funky colours and doodles! I combined the two elements of urban (male, geometric shapes like triangles and hard edges) with rainbows (curves and bright colours) to make this composition.
When I removed the colour the composition was still interesting, with lots going on. Â There was enough variety in the doodle.
These are all the coloured elements of the composition. I thought these would make interesting icons for gift tags and would make a cool repeating pattern for males. ♡

Tigerprint ‘Coming Together at Christmas’ Competition
On 19, Dec 2012 | No Comments | In christmas, competition, greetings, my work, seasonal | By Tina
Hi everyone. I entered a competition with Tigerprint and the theme was ‘Coming Together at Christmas’. The design was inspired by our personal idea of Christmas.
My ‘Coming Together At Christmas‘ moment is shopping for decorations with my Mum. Every year we love looking at the new decorations and seeing the wide variety of tree designs.Â
Here are my four entries. Three are patterns and one is a placement print.
The designs for the trees came from a doodle I did for the Advent Doodle challenge run by Faye Brown of Faye Brown Designs.
And here are the original doodles that made up the pattern. ♡
