Hi everyone. A few weeks ago I went to International Beatles Week in Liverpool. It’s a week long celebration of all things Beatles. There’s loads of tribute bands, films, documentaries, shows and a memorabilia fair. It’s quite literally Beatles heaven if you’re a fan of the Fab Four!

I’ve always been a fan of the Beatles but it’s only in the last 10 years or so that I’ve become a bigger fan. Their body of work never ceases to amaze me – from their raucous, rock-n-roll beginnings to their unmistakable jangly, catchy pop, to their more experimental, psychedelia and finally their thoughtful, more mature songs.

I have been inspired by their music and energy to create some drawings. Also you will probably see that there are a lot of 50th Anniversaries of the Beatles coming up. This year 2013 is the 50th Anniversary of their first UK No. 1, From Me To You (Of course the Beatles story starts long before 1963 but it was the year that started their amazing success story).

So here is a fun illustration I did that contains 12 Beatles songs.

Can you guess them all? The 12th song is a cryptic one – you’ll have to look deep inside the drawing to find the answer!

The thing that struck me listening to their music is how fresh it sounds after 50 years. In fact I am really shocked that it is so old. It was also amazing to see the generations of fans at International Beatles Week – from the first-time-round older generation to people like me, who weren’t even born when the Beatles were around, to the youngest children clearly enjoying the music.

I made the Illustration into a Photolithographic print that’s available in my Webshop as an A4 print (also available framed).
