Hi everyone. Welcome to the third Animal Love Day! I hope you’re enjoying all the wonderful animal illustration and pattern.
As usual I will showcase one of my own designs first and then a designer showcase.
The animals covered will include birds, fish, insects, extinct creatures and mythical creatures.
So this week, we have a mischievous guest – that playful little creature that swings through the jungles!
MY DESIGN
Magic Monkey by Tina Devins
I liked the idea of repetitive shapes and wanted to do a purely geometric design. Everything is designed around circles and ovals. I am also a massive Kawaii fan and love their cute, simple designs and bright, happy colours.

Cute jungle animals by Dawn Machell in her adorable, naive style. I love the analogous colour scheme (colours beside each other on the colour wheel). It’s very restful and perfect for a little boy.

Look to the right of the picture – there’s the monkey! I found it hard to source patterns focusing on the monkey. I suppose the lion is the king of the jungle and he rules over all!
Anyway Helen Dardik‘s retro style is so full of joy and life – even the tiny monkey has character. Look at his stylish jumper and he’s balancing an apple on his foot and a mouse on his head! Clever monkey!
